Detailed description of Golf Club at Champions Circle | Champions Circle Golf Course

The Golf Club at Champions Circle, originnaly named Creeks At Beechwood and later named Doral Tesoro Golf Club, is a Resort, 18 hole golf course located in Fort Worth, Texas.

The course was originally designed by professional-golfer-turned-architect Greg Norman, but when the course changed ownership it was redesigned. Jay Morrish completed the redesign in 2000. The design maximizes the land's natural features while minimizing changes to its topography. Set amoung the gently rolling hills of a former cattle ranch, Champions Circle leads goflers through visually striking natural creeks, oak-lined fairways, distinctive rock outcroppings and dramatic changes in elevations.

Stretching 7,150 yards, the course has five sets of tees to accomodate all levels of challenge. All players will be tested on the 11th hole, a lengthy 486 yard, par 4, playing to a narrow, elongated green guarded on one side by a waste bunker and a pond, while a large white Floridian sand bunker guards the right side of the green.

There are three par 4's under 315 yards, 2 par 5's under 520 yards, and one par 5 under 621 yards. The fairways follow the many tree-lined creeks that wind through the land, and although 15 holes have water in play, water can be seen from all 18.  Five sets of tees will accommodate a variety of handicaps.

The facility also offers a 10-1/2 acre practice facility with two putting greens and a chipping and short game area.

Would travel: 30-60 Miles, Vacation Worthy

Course condition was average. Bunkers are terrible. Looks like they just gave up on them. Grass is overgrown in all bunkers and like hitting off concrete. I wish all courses would have a marshall out addressing slow play. We finally skipped couple of holes and finished in 3 hours.

Would travel: 20-30 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Average course for the area, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing
